Student Art Celebrated by the City

The City of Irving’s Disability Awareness poster contest is an annual tradition for Irving ISD fourth graders. The contest encourages students to artistically express how persons with disabilities can use their strengths and abilities to be part of the community. This year, five fourth graders earned first place, and six students were awarded honorable mention. The city hosted the artists at Thursday’s city council meeting where they were recognized by Mayor Rick Stopfer. As a treat, winning posters are currently on display at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in celebration of October’s Disability Awareness Month.
