On February 24, 2022, the Irving Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a residental home located at 1735 Senter Rd. The caller reported that all occupants had exited the home, with the exception of their two cats.
The first emergency personnel were on-scene at 9:42 pm and reported a fire through the roof. A total of 16 pieces of emergency equipment were sent to the scene. Permanent water supply and multiple attack lines were deployed to control the fire. With temperatures near 25 degrees, gloves were sticking to hoses, but firefighters were able to have the fire under control at 10:24 pm.
No civilians were injured, but the two cats did not make it out.
