The Garland Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Zion Road.
Just before 3:00am on October 8th, Garland Fire/EMS and Police responded to a crash on the main lanes of the highway. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle struck the back of an 18-wheeler.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by Garland paramedics. There were no other injuries.
Lanes of the highway were reopened around 8:00am this morning.
The cause remains under investigation.
