Shooting in Grand Prairie: 18-Year-Old Arrested for Fatally Shooting 17-Year-Old

On Saturday, June 10th, at around 5:30 P.M., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of Lake Ridge Parkway in South Grand Prairie. Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene where a shooting had occurred. The victim, identified as Erick Munoz, 17 years of age, was transported to a local hospital by friends prior to officer’s arrival and later pronounced deceased.

Based on witness statements, detectives identified the alleged suspect as Anthony Moran, 18 years of age. On Sunday, June 11th, Grand Prairie Police Officers assigned to the United States Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, along with assistance from the Arlington Police Department, apprehended Moran without incident.

Detectives determined the suspect and victim were engaged in a disturbance nearby when the incident escalated resulting in the suspect shooting the victim.

Moran is currently being held in the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $1,000,000.

This case remains under investigation.
