On July 5, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident reported in the 4600 block of Village Fair Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Josef Treece, 19, who had sustained gunshot wounds and was found lying on the ground. Sadly, Treece succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another adult male, whose identity has not been disclosed, was also shot and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle. The individual is reported to be in stable condition.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the authorities, both Treece and the unidentified male victim were passengers in a vehicle at the time of the incident. It was revealed that a physical altercation ensued, leading to the discharge of firearms by an unidentified group located outside the vehicle.
In the course of their inquiries, detectives also became aware of a third victim, another adult male, who had been struck by gunfire at the scene. This individual was subsequently driven to a local hospital in a private vehicle and is currently listed in stable condition.
