Fort Worth House Fire Claims Life of Resident and Pet

Shortly before 4:15 am this morning, the Fort Worth Fire Department (FWFD) received a call into their alarm office stating that two people were trapped inside their burning home.

When FWFD crewes arrived on scene in the 300 block of Wayne Street, they found smoke and fire coming from the one story home.  Knowing that there were people inside, the firefighters immediately kicked in the back door of the house and entry to rescue them.

Firefighters found the residents and carried them outside where crews began emergency medcial care.  Both patients were transported to a local hospital.  Unfortunately, one of the patients was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Four pets were also found, one of which, did not survive.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
