UPDATE: On August 6, 2023, the US Marshals Task Force arrested 37-year-old David Santos Flores. He was taken to Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder. His bond has been set at $500,000. Immigration was also notified as Flores is an illegal immigrant in the U.S.

A quiet evening in the Rylie Neighborhood was shattered on August 5, 2023, as a fatal shooting unfolded in the 2000 block of Vine Lane. Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at approximately 11:35 p.m., discovering that 36-year-old Hector Barrios Verdugo had been shot during a disturbance.
Verdugo was swiftly transported to a local hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Local authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, appealing to the public for any information that might aid in their efforts.
The investigation is ongoing and documented on case number 141355-2023.
