Suspect Identified in Glenn Heights Shooting, Currently At-Large

A breakthrough has been made in the investigation of last week's shooting incident that took place on August 10 in the City of Glenn Heights. The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Wesley Warren Birdine, prompting the Glenn Heights Police Department to issue two arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Serious Bodily Injury, and charges related to Family Violence.

Birdine, whose whereabouts are currently unknown, is considered to be armed and dangerous. Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution and not approach him. He was last seen operating a burgundy 2012 Nissan Maxima, bearing Texas license plate RXT-6641.

The incident unfolded last Thursday at approximately 1:03 p.m. within the 2700 block of Malibu Court. The Glenn Heights Police Department was alerted to the situation following reports of gunfire received through emergency 911 calls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Both victims were expeditiously transported to a local medical facility for treatment. However, the Glenn Heights Police Department has refrained from disclosing further information regarding their current medical conditions.

City officials released a statement asserting that preliminary investigations indicate the shooting to be an isolated occurrence. Nevertheless, law enforcement has issued a stern advisory to the public: if Wesley Warren Birdine is sighted, it is imperative to immediately notify 911 and refrain from any direct approach.

Anyone with information regarding this offense, or Birdine’s current whereabouts, is asked to call the Glenn Heights Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 972.223.1690 ext. 260.
