On July 1, 2023, Dallas Police responded to a call after skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area near 7500 S. Lancaster Road. Following a thorough investigation, the Medical Examiner’s office confirmed on September 20 that the remains belonged to 41-year-old Michael Mupfukudzwa. He had been reported missing on September 12, 2022, under case number 166223-2022.
Preliminary findings from the investigation revealed that Mupfukudzwa had sustained gunshot wounds. The Dallas Police Department is continuing its inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The case is now being investigated as a homicide under case number 126021-2023.
