On December 5, 2023, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Aubrey Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 9800 block of Concord Drive in Providence Village in Denton County. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 22-year-old man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed the victim to a Denton hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as 18-year-old Austin W. Fontana, has been taken into custody. Fontana is facing charges of Murder and is currently undergoing the booking process at the Denton County Jail. According to investigators, both the suspect and the victim were acquainted and shared the same residence.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
