On December 18, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Dallas Police were dispatched to a shooting incident in the 1800 block of Adelaide Drive in Cedar Crest.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 65-year-old Edgar Johnson Jr. with gunshot wounds. Johnson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following preliminary investigations, authorities identified 35-year-old Broderick Davenport as the suspected perpetrator. Davenport has been charged with Murder and was subsequently taken into custody.
He is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $1,000,000.
