On November 3, 2023, an Irving Police Officer attempted to make traffic stop on a northbound 2022 Subaru Crosstrek along N. Highway 161. The driver, identified as 17-year-old Allan Garcia-Izaquiere from Richardson, fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. Other Irving Police Officers joined the pursuit that ended when the suspect collided with a truck at the intersection of 161 and Las Colinas Boulevard. Following the crash, Garcia-Izaquiere attempted to escape on foot from the scene of the accident. After a foot chase, Officers were able to catch Garcia-Izaquiere.
Further investigation revealed that the Subaru Crosstrek was reported stolen from another agency. Garcia-Izaquiere was subsequently apprehended and charged with accident - failure to stop, evading arrest with a vehicle, evading arrest on foot, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. The truck that was hit sustained damages estimated at $2,000. A total of five Irving police officers were involved in the arrest. Garcia-Izaquiere's bond was set at $15,334.00.
