On February 21, 2024, at approximately 11:30 pm, Dallas Police were dispatched to a shooting incident in the 4100 block of Preferred Place, situated in the Redbird area.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 48-year-old Cedrick Woods suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite medical attention from Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR), Woods succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities have identified 32-year-old Branden Frazier as the suspect in the shooting. Frazier has been taken into custody and is facing charges of Murder in connection with the incident. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
According to preliminary investigations, Frazier and Woods were acquainted with each other prior to the altercation.
The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate this incident under case number 029504-2024.
