The Denton Police Department has arrested Riley Clowers, 24, in connection with a fatal overnight shooting. Clowers, a Denton resident, was taken into custody without incident on Saturday afternoon in Sanger.
Detectives discovered that Clowers and an unidentified male, who died in the incident, approached a pickup truck on the 3200 block of W. Windsor Drive. The unidentified male entered the truck with a firearm, and a struggle ensued as the driver attempted to flee. Both the driver and the male passenger were shot during the altercation.
Investigators determined that Clowers committed murder by presenting a weapon during the aggravated assault, leading to the death of the unidentified male.
