Motorcycle Gang Member Sentenced to 15 Years for Role in Organized Crime Murder in Fort Worth

On May 28, 2024, a Tarrant County jury has sentenced Anthony Patterson, 28, to 15 years in prison for engaging in organized crime related to the murder of Christopher Johnson. Patterson is a documented member of the Pagan's Motorcycle Club, classified as an outlaw motorcycle gang by the ATF and local authorities.

The incident occurred on October 24, 2020, when Patterson and other Pagans forced Johnson out of the Eight Ball Billiard & Bar on Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth. As Johnson attempted to flee, he was violently attacked. Video footage showed Patterson preventing Johnson and his friends from leaving while co-defendant Nathan McCurdy, armed with a knife, fatally stabbed Johnson.

McCurdy was previously found guilty and sentenced to 50 years in prison.

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office expressed gratitude to the Fort Worth Police Department, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of the Attorney General for their efforts in the case. The prosecution was handled by Tarrant County Assistant District Attorneys Page Simpson, Dani Wojciak, and Steve Elliott.
