On July 13, 2024, at approximately 1:55 AM, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 3500 block of St. Francis Avenue in the White Rock Hills area of East Dallas.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Edward Upkins lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue arrived shortly after and transported Upkins to Baylor University Medical Center. Upkins was pronounced dead at 2:37 AM.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the case will be referred to a Grand Jury. The case is documented under case number 107325-2024.
