On August 5, 2024, at approximately 11:50 AM, Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 3500 block of Munger Avenue in Old East Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Raul Torres suffering from a gunshot wound. Torres was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
On August 11, 2024, Torres succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Following further investigation, 17-year-old Francisco Bautista was identified as a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant for Murder has been issued for Bautista, who is currently not in custody.
The investigation remains ongoing and is documented under case number 119605-2024.
UPDATE: On August 13, 2024, 17-year-old Francisco Bautista turned himself in to the Dallas County Jail. Bautista will be charged with Murder.
