Fort Worth Man Sentenced to Life for Capital Murder of Two Individuals in Denton

Benjamin Paul Teal

In a Denton County courtroom on Tuesday, 30-year-old Benjamin Paul Teal from Fort Worth was found guilty of Capital Murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The verdict comes in connection with the murders of Breanna Christine Dunn, 29, and Ronald Lee Calvert Jr., 43.

Denton Police Department detectives linked Teal, along with Silvester Williams—whose trial is scheduled for next year—to the fatal shooting that occurred on March 23, 2023, in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 1300 block of Dallas Drive. Both victims were discovered in a vehicle, with Calvert Jr. in the driver's seat and Dunn in the front passenger seat.

After a thorough investigation tying him to the crime, Teal was apprehended in Wichita Falls. The Denton Police Department commended the efforts of its Major Crimes, Special Operations, Forensic Services, and Evidence Management Units, along with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office, for their extensive work leading to Teal’s conviction.
