On Monday, December 16, 2024, the Midlothian Police Department announced the arrest of two individuals involved in a series of pharmacy burglaries. These crimes occurred in Midlothian and surrounding areas, with the first incident taking place on July 8, 2024, at All Care Pharmacy, located at 1441 South Midlothian Parkway. On that occasion, suspects broke the window and stole controlled substances. Similar burglaries followed on September 21, 2024, at All Care Pharmacy, as well as September 25 and 26, 2024, at Ropheka Pharmacy (340 Hawkins Run) and Midlothian Pharmacy (2021 South 14th Street).
Investigators connected the Midlothian incidents to similar burglaries in other cities. Through collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, police arrested Demetrius Wines, who was linked to the burglaries. Following an interview, Wines led authorities to Alfred Echols, who was arrested by a partner agency.
The investigation also revealed five additional suspects, identified through social media, cell phone records, FLOCK cameras, and facial recognition software. Warrants have been issued for:
- Jerry Collins, 35
- Christopher McCoy, 30
- Kaylon Roland, 31
- Remond Williams, 27
- Bradford Wines, 23
These suspects are facing multiple charges of Burglary of a Building Where a Controlled Substance is Stored (3rd Degree Felony) and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (2nd Degree Felony). A total of 26 warrants have been issued, with a bond amount of $2.6 million.
