The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early this morning at the intersection of North Highway 161 service road and IH-30 westbound service road.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., a Nissan passenger car traveling west on the IH-30 service road collided with a Dodge pickup truck heading south on the Highway 161 service road. Both the driver of the Nissan and the driver of the Dodge were pronounced deceased at the scene. No other passengers were in either vehicle.
Based on witness statements, investigators believe the driver of the Nissan failed to stop for a red light.
The identities of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
