18-Year-Old Arrested for Capital Murder in Deadly Grand Prairie Shooting

A suspect has been arrested in connection to the April 27 shooting death of an 18-year-old male on West Tarrant Road.

Keionn Winters, 18, was taken into custody on May 27 at his residence by members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with Capital Murder and is currently being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.

The shooting occurred on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Officers with the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a report of gunfire in the 2400 block of W. Tarrant Road. Upon arrival, they found a male victim outside of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. He was identified as 18-year-old Jose Luis Flores by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators believe the victim was involved in high-risk activity at the time of the incident. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
