Two Fatal Shootings in East Fort Worth Park Leave Two Teen Girls Dead

FORT WORTH, TX – The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating two related shootings that left two 17-year-old girls dead in East Fort Worth on Monday, December 29, 2025.

At approximately 2:13 p.m., officers responding to a disturbance call in the 1500 block of Liberty Street heard gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a female victim on the ground with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified her as 17-year-old Cyanna Boone.

Just minutes later, at 2:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Handley Drive, where they found another female victim in a parked vehicle. She was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Investigators determined that a group of 15-20 people had gathered at a city park near 1500 Liberty Street, where a verbal confrontation escalated into a physical altercation. An unknown suspect fired a handgun at the victims.

Police located another occupant from the second vehicle nearby and continue to interview witnesses as they work to identify and apprehend the shooter. Authorities have stated there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
