DART Announces Fare Changes Effective March 1, Including Reduced Regional Day Pass Price

DALLAS COUNTY, Texas - Dallas Area Rapid Transit will implement updated fare pricing beginning March 1, 2026, introducing a lower Regional Day Pass price while adjusting reduced fare options across the system.

The most significant change lowers the Regional Day Pass from $12 to $9, representing a 25 percent decrease. The reduced fare Regional Day Pass, available to eligible riders including seniors, individuals with disabilities, Medicare card holders, and qualifying students, will increase from $3 to $4.50 to align with the agency’s policy that discounted fares remain at 50 percent of the standard price.

Regional passes provide access to transit services operated by DART, Trinity Metro, and the Denton County Transportation Authority under a single fare.

Under the updated structure, the Regional 31-Day Pass will remain $192 for regular riders, while the reduced fare version will increase from $48 to $96. DART also announced the discontinuation of the Senior Retail Annual Pass, encouraging riders who previously used the product to transition to a Reduced Fare 31-Day Pass.

Transit officials said the fare adjustments are intended to simplify pricing, improve equity among rider categories, and support long-term service sustainability across DART’s 13 member cities.

DART operates bus, light rail, GoLink, paratransit, and commuter rail services across roughly 700 square miles in North Texas, serving more than 220,000 riders daily. Fare revenue contributes to service reliability, safety improvements, and fleet modernization efforts.

Updated fares will be reflected in the GoPass mobile app, on DART’s website, at ticket vending machines, and in customer materials before the March 1 implementation date. Riders seeking additional information can visit DART.org or contact DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111.
