PROVIDENCE VILLAGE, Texas - A suspect is in custody after a stabbing Tuesday morning in Providence Village left one person hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Aubrey Police Department.
Officers and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 6 a.m. on July 28 to the 11100 block of Summer Rain in Aubrey after receiving a report of a stabbing victim.
During the investigation, officers determined the stabbing had actually occurred in the 13100 block of Quintin Drive in Providence Village.
Responding officers located evidence at the Quintin Drive residence consistent with a stabbing and found the suspected attacker at the home. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
According to investigators, the suspect and victim knew each other.
Police said the scene has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Residents in the area may continue to see a significant law enforcement presence while investigators process the crime scene.
