ALLEN, Texas - The Allen Police Department is asking residents to review their home surveillance footage after multiple vehicle burglaries were reported during the early morning hours of Aug. 7.
According to police, the burglaries occurred between approximately 3:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. in the Woodland Park, Lost Creek, Morningside and Summerfield neighborhoods.
Investigators are specifically looking for surveillance video showing a slow-moving, dark-colored passenger vehicle occupied by multiple people.
Police believe individuals associated with the vehicle exited the car and entered parked vehicles throughout the affected neighborhoods.
Detectives are asking residents to review any security camera footage recorded during the two-hour window, even if they are unsure whether what they captured is connected to the investigation.
Anyone whose cameras recorded suspicious activity is asked to save the footage and contact the Allen Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau at 214-509-4239.
Police also reminded residents to help prevent vehicle burglaries by locking their vehicles, removing valuables from inside, and never leaving firearms or vehicle keys unattended inside a vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
