FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth ISD high school students will once again be able to ride Trinity Metro transit services free of charge after the transit agency renewed the program following a successful pilot initiative.
Trinity Metro announced the free rides program will continue throughout the 2026-27 school year, including summer break, providing eligible students with transportation throughout Tarrant County.
The program is available to registered Fort Worth ISD students in grades 9 through 12.
Eligible students can ride:

Trinity Metro buses
-
TEXRail
-
Trinity Railway Express (TRE) within Tarrant County
Students who qualify may also use Trinity Metro's On-Demand Paratransit service after completing the required eligibility certification.
Transportation Beyond the School Day
Trinity Metro officials said students are encouraged to use the service for more than just traveling to and from school.
The free transit passes may also be used to:

Attend medical appointments

Run errands

Participate in extracurricular activities

Visit friends and family

Attend entertainment and social events
The program is designed to increase mobility and provide students with greater independence throughout the school year.
How Students Can Enroll
To participate, eligible students must download the GoPass mobile ticketing app and create an account using their Fort Worth ISD email address.
Once registered, a monthly transit pass will automatically appear in the app. Students simply scan or display the digital pass when boarding eligible Trinity Metro services.
