Irving Stakeout for Wanted Woman Leads to Police Pursuit, Drug Seizure and Two Arrests

IRVING, Texas - An Irving police surveillance operation targeting a 25-year-old woman wanted on multiple drug-related warrants led to the arrests of two women and the seizure of nearly two pounds of marijuana and THC products.

Irving police investigators were conducting surveillance around lunchtime Sept. 1 at a residence in the 1900 block of Dana Ct. in South Irving, near Fritz Park.

Investigators were looking for Kaity Darline Rivera, 25, who was wanted on an active felony probation violation warrant related to delivery of marijuana. Police knew the address from Rivera's Texas driver's license and information listed on the warrant.

During the surveillance, investigators saw Rivera arrive in a silver Toyota Prius with another woman. After spending a short time inside the residence, Rivera came back outside carrying bags and got into the front passenger seat of the Prius.

Another Irving police unit stopped the vehicle near Oakdale Road and Robinson Street.

Officers reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle during the stop. Rivera was ordered out of the Prius and officers began taking her into custody on the outstanding warrant.

As officers were arresting Rivera, police said the driver began moving the Prius forward.

Officers ordered the driver to stop and turn off the vehicle, but she instead drove away, prompting a pursuit. The driver eventually stopped and was taken into custody.

Police identified her as 23-year-old Lisbeht Anali Rivera.

A subsequent search of the Prius uncovered approximately 919.3 grams, or just over 2 pounds, of marijuana and 77 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, according to police. The THC was found in vape products.

Kaity and Lisbeht Rivera were booked into the Irving Jail. Both were charged with manufacture or delivery of a Penalty Group 2 controlled substance between 4 and 400 grams and possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds.

Lisbeht Rivera was additionally charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.

Arrest records disclosed that Kaity Rivera had eight outstanding warrants related to drug trafficking that were issued at the request of the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.

Court records related to the investigation show Kaity Rivera was convicted on a drug charge on May 1, 2024, and received three years of deferred probation. That case also stemmed from an Irving Police Department investigation.
