Aubrey Man Arrested After Alleged Invasive Recording at Frisco Gym, Child Pornography Discovered
FRISCO, Texas - A 38-year-old Aubrey man has been arrested on felony charges after Frisco police investigated allegations that he secretly recorded a woman at a local fitness center and subsequently discovered child sexual abuse material.
Eli Phillip Rodriguez, 38, faces charges of invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography, according to the Frisco Police Department.
The investigation began after police received a report involving an adult female at a fitness center in Frisco.
Detectives launched a criminal investigation into the alleged invasive recording. During that investigation, authorities said they also discovered evidence that Rodriguez possessed child sexual abuse material.
Police did not disclose how the additional material was discovered, whether it was found on an electronic device or how many images or videos were involved.
Rodriguez was taken into custody and transferred to the Collin County Sheriff's Office.
The invasive visual recording charge is a state jail felony under Texas law, punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail facility and a fine of up to $10,000.
The possession of child pornography charge is a third-degree felony, carrying a potential prison sentence of two to 10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
Frisco police have not identified the fitness center or released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the alleged recording.
Authorities also did not specify when the alleged incident occurred or the date of Rodriguez's arrest.
