A man was arrested on November 2 after he attempted to run over a woman during a domestic dispute. The woman shot and wounded him. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.
Mansfield police responded to a shooting call after 7:30 pm on Monday, October 31st in the 1700 block of US 287.
The man was identified as 32-year-old Scott McPherson of Arlington. The two were in a dating relationship.
Detectives determined that during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, he attempted to run her over with his vehicle. The woman reacted by pulling out a handgun and shooting at him once.
She drove McPherson to MEthodist Mansfield Medical Center where he was treated. He was arrested upon being released from the hospital.
He faces charges of assault family violence impeding breathing/circulation and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle).
The woman is not being charged at this time.
