At 1:42 pm on April 19, the Irving Fire Department (IFD) received a call of a Tractor trailer on fire at Westbound highway 114 underneath 161.
Fire crews arrived on scene at 1:48 pm and reported the entire vehicle was on fire. It was quickly determined more equipment was needed. Mutual aid from DFW was dispatched in addition to two Irving engines.
Heavy black smoke and wind conditions lead to multiple lane closures for driver safety concerns.
The fire was called under control at 2:18 pm. A total of 7 units were sent to the scene.
IFD says there was no structural damage to the bridge columns.
There were no reported injuries.
