On July 18, 2023 at approximately 7:20 pm Garland Police responded to a shooting incident in the 3300 block of South Shiloh Road.
According to authorities, the initial reports indicated that two males were traveling northbound on a gas-powered scooter in the 3300 block of South Shiloh Road when the tragic incident unfolded. As the pair proceeded through an intersection on a green light, they came under fire from an unidentified suspect or suspects who were traveling in a separate vehicle.
The assailant's vehicle quickly fled the scene, heading northbound on South Shiloh Road.
Both men were transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. One male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The victim is identified as a Dallas resident, but his identity will not be released before next of kin notifications.
Garland Detectives are investigating and speaking with witnesses to determine what led to the shooting. Additional details will be released when available.

UPDATE: The shooting victim has been identified as 33-year-old Brisen Dewayne Dunn of Dallas. The second victim is in stable condition.
Detectives are continuing their investigation to identify the person(s) responsible and what led to the shooting.
