Tragic Outcome for Critically Injured Man in North Richland Hills Crash

The North Richland Hills Police Department announced today that 21-year-old Gavin Owens of Hurst, who was critically injured in a four-vehicle crash on Monday evening, has passed away. The crash occurred on Davis Blvd. near Turner Terr., leaving three people injured and causing the closure of the roadway in both directions for several hours.

The incident unfolded at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Monday when reports of the crash were received by the North Richland Hills Joint Communications Center. Witnesses at the scene described a four-vehicle collision with multiple people injured. North Richland Hills Fire-Rescue swiftly responded to the scene, transporting three individuals involved in the crash: one in critical condition, one in serious condition, and one in good condition.

North Richland Hills Police Accident Investigations team was called in to map out the extensive crash site, while the North Richland Hills Street Department also arrived to assist with cleanup efforts. Despite the immediate response, the road remained closed from Cross to Turner for several hours, affecting traffic in the area.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are still ongoing. While initial reports suggest that speed may have played a role in the incident, authorities have not yet determined the exact circumstances leading up to the collision. The North Richland Hills Police Department continues to gather and analyze evidence, along with witness statements, to gain a better understanding of the tragic event.

Depending on the findings of the investigation, charges could potentially be filed in connection with the crash.
