Dallas Police Senior Corporal Arrested for Suspected DWI While Off Duty

On January 12, 2024, Dallas Police Senior Corporal James William Goetz, 40,  was arrested by the Pilot Point Police Department on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated.

The arrest took place while Goetz was off duty.

Goetz has been a member of the department since August 2008 and is currently assigned to the Investigations Bureau- Internet Crimes Against Children. 

In the Friends of the Dallas Police Department Awards Banquet held on November 13, 2023, Goetz was awarded Detective of the Year.
