The victims of a shooting incident that took place on Sunday, January 14, 2024, have been identified as 18-year-old Alan Jesus Chavez and 17-year-old Ruben Santibanez Arzola, both residents of Wylie.
The Garland Police Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that there may have been a prior connection between the victims and the unidentified suspect.
On January 14, 2024, at approximately 3:15 pm, Garland Officers responded to a shooting incident in the 2300 block of West Buckingham Road. Upon arrival, both the Garland Police Department and Garland Fire Department discovered the two individuals, Alan Jesus Chavez and Ruben Santibanez Arzola, who had sustained gunshot wounds from an unknown assailant.
Both victims succumbed to their injuries. The suspect fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.
The Garland Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in this investigation. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Garland Crime Stoppers at 972-272-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $5000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
