Homicide Investigation Launched After Dallas Man's Death Ruled as Result of Violence

Dallas Police are investigating the death of 46-year-old Rory Thacker, whose body was discovered during a welfare check at a residence in the 8000 block of Hunnicut Road on December 5, 2023.

Initially considered an unexplained death, the case took a turn when the Medical Examiner ruled on February 16, 2024, that Thacker's demise resulted from homicidal violence.

The investigation has since been taken over by the Homicide Unit, with the case number 216536-2023.
