Fort Worth Pedestrian Killed, Driver Arrested for Intoxication and Manslaughter

On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, at 12:26 a.m., Northwest units were dispatched to the intersection of N.W. 28th St. and Prospect Ave. in response to a major accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

During the investigation, it was determined that a female pedestrian was in traffic and was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The driver, identified as Alexia Monica Lopez, 23, was arrested for intoxication and manslaughter with a vehicle.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the manner and cause of death. The identity of the victim will be released once next-of-kin have been notified. Fort Worth Police Traffic Investigation detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
