DENTON COUNTY, Texas - A Denton County jury has delivered a forceful sentence against Cordarrell Coleman, 35, of Lewisville, condemning him to life in prison plus an additional 20 years for the sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14.
Coleman was found guilty of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child. Judge Brent Hill ordered the sentences to be served consecutively (stacked), meaning Coleman will first serve the life term before beginning the 20-year sentence.
The verdict and sentencing were the culmination of an investigation launched by the Lewisville Police Department, which arrested Coleman on June 25, 2024, in the 2100 block of S. Uecker Dr. The victim was under the age of 14.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lauren Marshall and Kari Gannam. As a result of the conviction, Coleman will be required to register as a sex offender in Texas for life.
Court records show that prior to this case, Coleman had a history of alcohol-related offenses, including multiple DUI arrests and convictions, and parole violations.
