On Monday, November 17, 2025, Dallas Police officers made a significant arrest thanks to teamwork, quick thinking, and advanced technology. Officers with the Central Business District (CBD) were alerted when a Flock camera in downtown Dallas detected a vehicle connected to a homicide investigation in Jacksonville, Florida.
As officers responded, a second notification from the Flock system updated the vehicle’s location in real time. This allowed the team to track the vehicle’s movement through the city, narrowing down its path and coordinating a safe approach to intercept the suspect.
The vehicle was ultimately located in the 900 block of Canton Street. Officers called for backup to conduct a high-risk stop. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Randy Campbell III, initially refused to exit the vehicle, creating a tense standoff. Through careful communication and patience, officers were able to safely remove Campbell from the vehicle and take him into custody without incident.
Campbell is charged with Murder in connection with the Jacksonville investigation, as well as Assault – Public Servant in Dallas. Evidence and details of his involvement in the Florida case are being coordinated with Jacksonville authorities.
Chief Daniel Comeaux praised the officers’ professionalism and the role of modern technology in the arrest. “This arrest is a powerful example of how advanced tools, combined with skilled officers and strong coordination, keep our community safe,” Chief Comeaux said. “Flock cameras provide real-time information that allows us to respond faster, make strategic decisions, and remove dangerous individuals from the streets.”
