Irving Police Investigating Homicide; Need Help Identifying Suspects

The Irving Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on May 28, 2017 at approximately 1:41 a.m. in the 3300 block of W. Walnut Hill Lane. Officers were dispatched to a shooting and found three adult victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. All three were transported to Parkland Hospital for treatment but one victim, 18-year-old Ledajrick Rajae Cox, later died from his injuries. One victim remains in the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries and the third victim was released.

Officers learned that the victims were with two other friends at the 7-Eleven store at Beltline Road and Walnut Hill Lane prior to the shooting. While there, some of the group had an argument with a male suspect in the parking lot. Shortly thereafter, the group drove away from the store but were followed out by the suspect vehicle. The suspects pulled alongside the victims’ car and shot multiple rounds into the car. The suspects then fled the scene but were not located.

Detectives are attempting to identify three adult black males who were in a newer model white sedan as the persons responsible for the shooting. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Irving Police Department at (972) 273-1010 (24 hours) and reference case number 17-11840.
