Arrest Made on Irving Kidnapping Investigation

On January 25, 2019, the Irving Police Department said they were investigating a kidnapping and robbery that had occurred that previous monday at the 1000 block of Hidden Ridge in North Irving.

According to the press release, "at approximately 8:20 am, the victim was sitting in her parked vehicle when the suspect got into the back sear of her car.  The suspect forced the victim to drive around the Dallas area telling her he needed money and threatened to shoot her.  After more than an hour, the victim was told to drive back to Irving and find an ATM.  When they reached a bank in the 4000 block of North MacArthur Blvd, the victim got out of the car and escaped.  The suspect stole the victim's credit cards and fled."

Irving had identified the suspect as 29-year-old Albert Lee Sell of Cisco, Texas and issued a warrant for his arrest.

On February 1st, Chief Dalton from the Clyde Police Department announced that Albert Sell had been taken into custody, "Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 4:40 pm, Clyde Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Albert Sell, age 29 of Cisco, TX. Sell has active warrants for his arrest for Robbery and Kidnapping, out of Irving, TX, for an incident that occurred in Irving last week. Sell also has a warrant out of Eastland county for Aggravated Assault, and one out of Brown county for Evading. Sell failed to stop for Clyde officers and engaged in a pursuit with officers. Due to the nature of the crimes Sell is wanted for, officers continued the pursuit, which eventually led officers into Abilene. Sell was able to evade officers, eventually abandoning his vehicle and proceeding on foot. Anyone with information on Sell’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency."
