An Irving police officer was responding to a hit-and-run accident Sunday morning when a suspected drunk driver crashed into her squad car.
Brianna Noel James was arrested on suspicion of Driving While intoxicated (DWI) and taken to the Irving Jail.
The crash happened as the officer blocked a lane of traffic at Southbound Loop 12 and Grauwyler Road around 1:30 a.m. A vehicle involved in the hit-and-run accident was disabled and being loaded onto a tow truck.
The officer, who was sitting inside the car when the suspected drunk driver ran into it, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
