Virtual Care for Kids is Waiving Co-Pays and Discounting All Telemedicine Visits

Virtual Care for Kids, the largest pediatric telemedicine platform in the U.S., is now waiving co-pays and heavily discounting virtual visits to help families avoid exposure to COVID-19 in medical facilities. This offer is being extended to families with all types of insurance plans, uninsured, and those with Medicaid in an effort to expand access to care.

”We understand that this is an alarming time for many people, and we never want the economic status of a family to prevent them from receiving the medical care they need, particularly during a crisis such as this.”, said Melissa Bauman, SVP of Telemedicine. “Our goal is to increase access to care for families while also limiting exposure to COVID-19, and we feel that providing care virtually is the best way to accomplish that.”, said Bauman

The Virtual Care for Kids pediatric medical team has increased staffing in order to eliminate wait times low and provide comprehensive telemedicine care to families across the state of Texas. The average wait for a virtual provider is currently at 2 minutes or less and visits accessible on any smart phone, tablet, or computer from home. On-demand telemedicine visits are available from 9am-9pm every day of the week.

”We’re encouraging families to stay safe during this time and follow CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommendations such as frequently washing hands and practicing social distancing.”, said Nam Nguyen, MD, Director of Telemedicine. ”We’re proud to provide immediate access to a medical provider for children at such an important time. Our team is grateful to have this opportunity to care for patients from the safety of their home” said Dr. Nguyen.
