Nine Men Facing Federal Charges for Drug and Gun Sales in Fort Worth

Nine individuals have been federally charged for their alleged involvement in the sale of drugs and firearms in Fort Worth, as announced by U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Leigha Simonton.

The accused individuals have been named in three separate criminal complaints, with charges ranging from conspiracy to distribute fentanyl to felon in possession of a firearm. In the month of September, authorities executed search warrants leading to the arrest of eight out of the nine defendants in Fort Worth. The operation was carried out by ATF Agents and Fort Worth Police Department Officers.

The individuals facing charges are as follows:

  1. Dewayne Thomas, aka “DJ,” charged with felon in possession of a firearm (Glock 10mm pistol).
  2. Anthony Williams, aka “Fresh,” charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl).
  3. Marvis Jones, aka “Twin,” charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl).
  4. Marquon McClain, aka “Flame,” charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl).
  5. Antwon Crosby, aka “Twon,” charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl).
  6. AJ Anderson Williams, Jr., charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance (fentanyl).
  7. Regina McDowell, aka “Lil Reg,” charged with felon in possession of a firearm (Canik 9mm pistol).

According to the complaints, ATF confidential informants, often accompanied by undercover agents, conducted undercover transactions involving both firearms and narcotics with the defendants. Over a series of more than a dozen transactions in June and July, it is alleged that the confidential informants purchased more than 94 grams of fentanyl pills, more than 57 grams of methamphetamine, and a total of nine firearms, including one privately made firearm often referred to as a "ghost gun."

These transactions took place primarily in convenience store and fast food parking lots, motels, and smoke shops. Notably, on at least two occasions, the defendants reportedly expressed suspicion of police presence in the vicinity. As a result, they allegedly met with an informant at one location and then led them to another to complete the transactions.

The charges against the accused individuals signify a significant effort by law enforcement to combat illegal drug and firearm activities in the Fort Worth area.
