In the late hours of January 27, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Dallas Police received a shooting call in the 4900 block of Gaston Avenue in Old East Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Taikian Brooks had sustained gunshot wounds at the scene.
Brooks was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This investigation is ongoing and is documented on case number 014864-2024.
