On January 30, 2024, around 10:45 am, Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2500 block of Southland Street in South Dallas, a few blocks from Lincoln High School.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 15-year-old male who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 16-year-old male, also injured in the incident, was identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody and received medical treatment at a local hospital.
The suspect is set to face charges of Capital Murder; however, his name is withheld due to his age. His injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.
