On Friday, February 2, 2024, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Killeen Police Officers responded to a call at the Hallmark Inn, located at 4500 E. Central Texas Expressway, reporting a person not breathing. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 70-year-old male deceased in a room with apparent injuries.
Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced the man dead at 2:55 p.m. and subsequently ordered an autopsy. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. UPDATE: Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division have identified the victim as Nathaniel Sims.
