At approximately 12:45 am on February 11, 2024, Dallas Police Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of W. Wheatland Road following reports of a robbery underway, situated south of I-20.
Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple suspects in the act of robbing a business. As officers approached, the suspects brandished a handgun and opened fire. In response, officers returned fire, prompting the suspects to flee the scene.
A pursuit ensued, during which there was a second exchange of gunfire between the suspects and law enforcement. One of the suspects sustained injuries during the altercation and received immediate first aid at the scene. The wounded suspect was subsequently transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Fortunately, no officers were harmed during the incident.
