Grapevine Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday, February 19, 2024, leaving one man injured and hospitalized.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., authorities responded to a shooting report in the 1300 block of Texan Trail, near the service road to SH-114. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to his hip.
Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by officers until paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported to the hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the victim's statement to investigators, he was driving southbound on Texan Trail when occupants in another vehicle pulled up beside him and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
After gathering information from the victim and acquaintances at the hospital, detectives suspect that the shooter may have been acquainted with the victim, indicating a targeted assault.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities conducting interviews with involved parties.
