Woman Killed in Southeast Dallas Carjacking That Ended in Fatal Crash

In the early hours of March 10, 2024, authorities in southeast Dallas were alerted to an incident involving a kidnapping and a major accident. Responding to a call at 1300 Murdock Road, officers discovered a distressing scene. A woman was found lying on the street. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded, but the woman died at the scene. 

Preliminary investigations determined that the suspect had carjacked the vehicle in which the victim was present. With the victim trapped inside, the suspect sped away, only to lose control of the vehicle, ultimately colliding with a pole.

The suspect was apprehended and transported to a nearby medical facility. The suspect's identity remains undisclosed until formal proceedings.

The incident has been documented under case numbers 039443-2024 and 039444-2024.

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Darion Thomas.  Thomas is charged with Murder and Theft. He is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
