The City of Irving, in collaboration with the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Las Colinas Association, is gearing up to host two events in honor of the Great American Eclipse set to pass over Texas on Monday, April 8.
With its strategic location, Irving promises prime spots for observing the solar eclipse of 2024, as it will be one of the few places where the moon will entirely obscure the sun. This cosmic event is expected to cast a shadow over the skies for over four minutes.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to comfortably witness this extraordinary celestial occurrence.
Here are the key timings for the eclipse:
- Partial Eclipse begins at 12:23 p.m.
- Totality begins at 1:40 p.m.
- Maximum Totality at 1:42 p.m.
- Totality ends at 1:44 p.m.
- Partial Eclipse ends at 3:02 p.m.
Free eclipse viewing glasses will be provided to all attendees.
